NEW CASTLE, Ind. — The World Karting Association’s Vega Tire Manufacturers Cup Series presented by Summit Racing Equipment enters the second half of its 2022 campaign this weekend with rounds five and six at the famed New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana.

Following successful opening events at Daytona in December and Charlotte in March, the series heads to the Midwest for the annual New Castle rounds that include two complete days of racing Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.  

Qualifying for each race day will start competition Friday afternoon following three rounds of morning practice. Qualifying for Saturday’s program will take place between 1:30 and 3:00pm Friday with Sunday’s qualifying going off between 3:15 and 5pm. 

Teams will have a final opportunity to work out any bugs with a quick 7-minute practice both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Pre-finals will start just before 9:30am each day with finals following at 1pm.

A full slate of 4-cycle and 2-cycle classes are on the card, comprising LO206 Cadet, Junior, Senior 360# and Senior 375# for 4-cycle; Micro Swift, Mini Swift, KA Junior and KA Senior for 2-cycle; Ignite Junior, Senior and Masters for the Margay racers; plus Kid Kart Comer Saturday and Briggs 206 Kid Kart on Sunday.
