BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. — The Southern Kart Club will close out the 2021 road racing season on the East Coast* this weekend with their annual fall WKA regional at Roebling Road Raceway in Bloomingdale, Ga., a fast, sweeping 9-turn, 2.02-mile circuit about 18 miles west of downtown Savannah.
SKC has collected over 100 pre-entries for the two-day event with CIK LO206 Sprint the largest division with 23 drivers already signed up for the class.

Officials announced today the event has been retitled the Tom Speaks Memorial Race in honor of the longtime tech inspector who passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 6. Speaks was always a familiar face in the Roebling Road tech barn during SKC events, and he’ll be greatly missed this weekend.
Saturday will conclude with a special Low Country Boil for attendees. If you’re planning to attend the boil, club officials ask you help by bringing a side dish or dessert to share.
Roebling Road’s gates will open Friday at 5:30pm for pit pass sales and parking, and practice is slated to start at 8am both Saturday and Sunday. The daily mandatory drivers meeting will be at 7:45am.

All WKA classes are offered and SKC has noted that if you have a kart, they’re a racer-friendly group and they’ll find you a race group to run in. Twenty-minute Vintage exhibition races will be held twice on both Saturday and Sunday.
Weather is looking great for the weekend and it should be a fun, enjoyable weekend of karting at Roebling Road to complete a season of road racing that’s seen increased entry counts and competition at national and regional events around the country.
