CHARDON, Ohio — Northeast Ohio-based Roderick Racing Development (RRD) has made several announcements over the past few weeks as their brand and business continues to grow in 4-cycle sprint karting.
RRD has announced they are now an official dealer for the Comet Kart Sales-manufactured Eagle chassis, an American-made championship-winning kart line that owns numerous national, regional and club wins coast to coast.
In addition, RRD has expanded to become a full-service kart shop with a full line of karting products including the Eagle chassis and components, Lawson Speed Shop 206 engines and products, and Ryan’s Performance Products aluminum engine mounts, washers and fuel line blocks.
RRD is also an authorized dealer for Rocket Sprockets and EK Chains products.
Founded in 2019 by 22-year karting veteran AJ Roderick, RRD began modestly by offering driver coaching and setup help. Over the past couple years the business has grown to become a top team in Cup Karts North America and other series with full trackside tent support in addition to driver coaching and setup services. RRD’s trailer is stocked with all commonly replaced parts and Comet Eagle chassis are in stock at every race they attend.
Throughout the remainder of 2023 RRD will be in attendance at all CKNA North races, CKNA Northeast at Pittsburgh, Route 66 Sprint Series at Road America, the CKNA Grands at New Castle, most Pittsburgh club races and select KRA club races at New Castle.
AJ Roderick is a three-time WKA Gold Cup national champion, two-time Buckeye Karting Challenge champion, former SCCA racer and he’s been a crew member on several teams in a variety of different forms of motorsports.
Roderick’s most recent win came in the Senior Heavy final at the CKNA Northeast Round 3 in his first visit to Oakland Valley Race Park in New York. RRD team driver Emily DeMaster won the 22-kart Senior Light heat race and nearly won the Light final on the same day, while Cody Svoboda picked up his first CKNA podium with a P3 result in the Heavy final.
