Carolina Motorsports Park to host 206 sprint races Fourth of July, Thanksgiving weekends

KERSHAW, S.C. — Carolina Motorsports Park will host a pair of holiday weekend 206 races in 2024 at the Kershaw, S.C., motorsports complex’s 0.7-mile Carolina Kart Park sprint track.

The first event is slated for Friday and Saturday, July 5-6. Multiple rounds of practice will be held Friday evening, July 5. The practice day will be scheduled so the last couple rounds will be held under CMP’s state-of-the-art LED track lights by Musco Sports Lighting.

The complete racing program will run Saturday, July 6. Practice sessions will run Saturday afternoon, with qualifying to run in the evening and most of the racing to be held under the lights Saturday night.

Coming off a successful inaugural Carolina Turkey Shootout event this past Thanksgiving weekend, CMP will promote the second annual version of the event this year, Friday-Saturday, November 29-30.

The second Turkey Shootout will again be a daytime event with multiple rounds of practice Friday, Nov. 29 and the complete racing program Saturday, Nov. 30.

Race day schedules for both events will include two rounds of practice, one qualifying round, one round of heats, and one round of finals.

Similar to last year’s Carolina Turkey Shootout, Kart Lounge and MGM Chassis will again help promote and staff the events.

Stay tuned for further announcements on these exciting events. With the success of last year’s Turkey Shootout, which was announced only a few weeks before the event, officials are optimistic the Fourth of July and second annual Carolina Turkey Shootout will be even bigger and better.
