CONCORD, N.C. – After a meeting this past weekend during the World Karting Association (WKA) Vega Pavement Cup event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Briggs & Stratton LLC. has strengthened their partnership with WKA. Looking to give back to the racer, the winner of the 206 Junior and 206 Senior categories at the WKA Manufacturers Cup Presented by Summit Racing Equipment will take home $1000 for their efforts.
“Briggs & Stratton has been a long-time partner of WKA, sharing many of the same values to help the karters,” explained WKA President Kevin Williams. “As a great partner, Briggs & Stratton has jumped into the prize packages with WKA all for the benefit of the karters, and WKA couldn’t be more delighted to have them reward them with cash. A big thanks to Dan Roche and Briggs & Stratton for their commitment to karting.”
With class winners already earning $500 for their efforts, Briggs & Stratton has now stepped up to the plate to add an additional $500 for each class winner beginning at the next event, the Charlotte Karting Challenge in April. Equaling the payouts of other WKA classes, Briggs & Stratton is the foundation of motorsports and is a supporter from the grassroots of racing to the professional kart racer.
“Briggs & Stratton has always shared WKA’s core values of helping the Karting Community,” added Dan Roche, Director of Motorsports for Briggs & Stratton LLC. “When the opportunity arose to step up that commitment, we were pleased to jump at the opportunity.”
The next event for the WKA Manufacturers Cup will take place April 15-18 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
