Another big turnout expected for AKRA / Dart Kart Pittsburgh Road Race

WAMPUM, Pa. — This month’s Dart Kart Club-hosted AKRA Pittsburgh Road Race Nationals Sept. 23-25 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex is shaping up to be another big event.

As of Sept. 1, DKC officials are reporting 171 drivers have already entered for Friday, Sept. 23 practice and 500 race entries have been collected for Saturday and Sunday’s racing programs. The three-day event closes the 2022 AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport National Road Race Series and it takes place at Pitt Race’s popular 19-turn, 2.78-mile Full Circuit.

This year will mark the sixth consecutive Pittsburgh Nationals for the Dart Kart and AKRA series, and the event is also a points race for World Karting Association’s National Road Race Series, the Championship Enduro Series and Woodbridge Kart Club. Last year, the Pitt Nationals set a record turnout with approximately 300 drivers making up over 850 race entries.

Pre-registration will remain open until Wednesday, Sept. 14. After that, drivers will need to enter at the track.
